CENTRAL FLORIDA TOURISM OVERSIGHT DISTRICT ANNOUNCES NEW FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF

Lake Buena Vista, FL., March 4, 2024 – The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) is pleased to announce Acting Chief Eric Ferrari has been appointed to Chief of the District Fire Department (DFD).

District Administrator Glenton “Glen” Gilzean, Jr., said, “Over the last 24 years, Eric Ferrari has served in various roles. With his focus on fire prevention and forward-thinking leadership style, he has made monumental transformations as Acting Fire Chief, making him a well-rounded, highly experienced choice for the position of Fire Chief.”

District Administrator Gilzean expressed his pride in Ferrari, “The Chief has initiated the development of a strategic plan, and the department is fully staffed for the first time in decades. I am proud to have Chief Eric Ferrari serving in this role, and I look forward to the department’s achievements under his leadership.”

Chief Ferrari will oversee the entire Department of 230 personnel, including the 911 Communications Center, advanced life support (ALS) emergency medical services, fire suppression and rescue, special operations, fire prevention, and fire & life safety inspections coordinated under the Office of the Fire Marshal.
